February 24-26, 2026 (Albuquerque, New Mexico) | Call for Speakers

K12 SIX is pleased to open the call for speakers for the 2026 National K-12 Cybersecurity Leadership Conference. We are seeking proposals for individual and panel presentations, as well as extended workshops that speak directly to the needs and experiences of aspiring and experienced K-12 cybersecurity leaders and practitioners (i.e., those charged with managing and mitigating K-12 cyber risks). Important details:

  • Eligible presenters include those working in school districts, charter schools, private/independent schools, regional and state education agencies, the federal government, higher education, law enforcement, and select associations/non-profits. Membership in K12 SIX will grant preference in speaker selection, but is not required. Please note that with the exception of conference sponsors, vendors/suppliers and/or their representatives are not eligible to attend or speak at the conference. To inquire about conference sponsorship and associated benefits, email us.

  • Inexperienced/first-time conference speakers are encouraged to apply.

  • We will not accept sponsored talks through this open call for speakers, nor are we soliciting product sales pitches or paid-product demonstrations.

  • Conference registration required for speakers, but registration fees will be refunded and/or waived for all speakers and panelists selected via this open call for speakers. Contact us with questions.

  • Technical and hands-on-keyboard session and workshop proposals are strongly encouraged.

  • The DEADLINE for submissions has past. Questions? Contact us.

Suggested topics: K-12 cyber incident reports; insights implementing K12 SIX-recommended cybersecurity defenses; honing advanced/technical cybersecurity skills (e.g., automation; handling alerts; threat hunting; canaries; pen testing; product configuration advice); cyber incident response planning; strategies to manage insider threats; strategies to manage third-party vendor/partner risk; communicating effectively with non-IT staff/leadership about cyber hygiene/risk mitigation/governance; emerging K-12 cybersecurity threats and issues; artificial intelligence (AI) and security; K-12 cybersecurity policy implementation (federal/state/local levels); K-12-specific cybersecurity research findings, etc. The best sessions will leave participants with actionable insights and to-do’s.
